Sustainable Packaging
We are reaching a point of crisis regarding the climate and how we treat it. Plastic consumption is now more likely to be avoided and consumers are quickly realising current consumption habits have got to change.
However, we’re still creatures of habit and need certain things in our lives such as fashion and beauty products. But it is possible to treat yourself without harming the planet. Especially when it comes to choosing packaging.
To help you make the right purchasing decision, in this post we’re revealing the brands doing their bit to be more sustainable.
First off, we love the everyday basics brand ‘Organic Basics’ which sells underwear, socks and t-shirts that last. Their products also come in this really cute lunch bag-style paper bag making it a great alternative to the plastic bags often used in fashion product packaging.
It’s also really interesting to see fast-fashion brands jump on the trend of sustainability. For example, Zara’s packaging consists of a recycled cardboard box which demonstrates an effort to reduce plastic consumption.
Have you come across any brands that have changed their packaging to a more sustainable alternative? Or is there a sustainable business that you’ve fallen in love with? We’d love to hear your thoughts on social media!
The sustainability trend has been around for a long time but it seems to be in demand more than ever. The question that rises with this issue is: ‘is it the consumer’s responsibility to be sustainable or the brand’s? ‘
In beauty, HiBar is known for its vegan soap and plastic-free solid conditioners and shampoos. Its packaging is 100% compostable, making it an easy swap for your bathroom.
